7 Ponds Hike
Overview
Embark on a challenging high-elevation hike to the Seven Ponds in Aberdares National Park. This 11-12km trail features a significant elevation gain of nearly 1000m, reaching a summit of 3826m. Hikers will traverse varying vegetation, from high-altitude mountain scrub to stunning views of the surrounding peaks. The highlight is discovering the seven small lakes or tarns near the summit, which give the trail its name. This demanding trek is an excellent preparation for more strenuous climbs like Mount Kenya.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Depart Nairobi CBD early morning for Aberdares National Park. Embark on an 11-12km hike with nearly 1000m elevation gain, reaching 3826m. Traverse diverse vegetation, enjoy views of surrounding peaks, and discover the seven small lakes (tarns) near the summit. The hike starts and ends at the same point within the park. Return to Nairobi CBD in the evening.
